Yes, a bit goofy of a name and the website’s not much to write home about, but it is a rather brilliant piece of work. This was some time ago and now that program has been updatedĪnd improved and it is still the best $32 a person with a library can spend. It also found duplicates, fixed names, years, and provided better cover art than I had. This amazing program not only identified 100% of every unidentified track I owned, After waiting for it to arrive I did my civic duty and now if anyone wants to peruse 'the favorite recipes of members of (the) Dollywood family', you can. How is it that I found out the name? I ran it through a program that fixed much of my library. Being that it was a gift, I bit the bullet and decided to buy a copy. SongKong will do everything almostĪny of us will ever need - and it may well prove very addictive the more its possibilities are explored. For example, the music you buy on iTunes is 256 kilobits per second. There are ways to tackle an entire library, though, using automated programs to check, amend and unravel tagging. SongKong can even match songs that have no metadata using audio fingerprinting. About this title may belong to another edition of this title. TuneUp, a program I have used in the past for tagging music, does quite well, but it is buggy, slow and crashes regularly. I managed to get a gracenote addon working through mp3tag, but I was underwhelmed by the poor results for my music. In the last few years many people have moved from Windows to OSX and find they need to re purchase all their software. Songkong and Jaikoz look interesting, but they seem to have limited databases. Hopefully I can do better than the Itunes tagging I have been using at any rate. Post any more solutions you can think of below and I'll check/try them out. I like musicbee, and beets looks a bit intimidating, but maybe I'll try that out. I've seen some promising options on github - a couple programs only work on android, though, another one for PC I can't get to work with mp3tag (it's a freedb proxy for gracenote), and another script for gracenote ala mp3tag that is either unfinished, or outdated. What works for you? What would work in theory if you haven't tested it yet? I want something that can plow through a huge directory structure of music and tag it, ideally with Gracenote's database (does MP3tag have an addon for it?) so that I don't have to do a bunch of manual work. I've been using a combination of scripts (which hook into the Itunes API) and MP3Tag (also with an Itunes database plugin) but it's far from automated and is tedious. Hi, SongKong primary database for song matching is MusicBrainz, and MusicBrainz has a sister project that does mood analysis. I thought I'd ask r/datahoarder first even though r/musichoarder is more relevant simply because the userbase is much higher.
